Auto Expo 2023: Tata Motors unveils Altroz Racer with voice activated electric sunroof, read on for further details

Auto Expo 2023: Tata Motors unveiled its variant of a sporty hatchback, called the Altroz Racer, at the Auto Expo 2023. The Tata Altroz Racer improves the look of the car and adds new features, like a new infotainment system and new styling. If introduced to the market, the Altroz Racer will go up against the Hyundai i20 N Line.

The gloss black finish is also added to the wheels

The Tata Altroz Racer has a two-tone paint scheme with red and black. The roof, hood, and side mirrors are all black, and white stripes run between them. This reminds us of the new Tata logo that was shown on the Avinya concept car. The gloss black finish is also added to the wheels to make them look even better. But there are no changes to the way it looks.

The cabin gets a big makeover with a black-on-black colour scheme and a new, bigger touchscreen infotainment system with a 10.25-inch screen. The current car has an 8-inch unit, but the new one replaces it and looks much better.

Electric sunroof that can be opened with your voice

There is also a new digital instrument console with a MID unit, which replaces the semi-digital unit on the current version. The Altroz Racer also has front seats with air vents, an electric sunroof that can be opened with your voice, wireless phone charging, and an air purifier.

The Tata Altroz Racer gets its power from the Nexon's 1.2-liter turbo gasoline engine, which it borrows for the Tata Altroz Racer. The engine is tuned for 120 bhp and a maximum torque of 170 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata hasn't said when it plans to release the Racer edition yet, but we expect that most of the changes will be made to the updated Altroz later this year. The better-equipped hatchback will compete with cars like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and others in the same segment.
