Vaishno Devi Temple is located in a cave on the Trikuta mountain in Jammu and Kashmir, where one has to climb 13 kilometers to reach. What makes the arduous journey a little easier is the beautiful scenery here, which attracts people towards it.

1.Best Time To Visit

Summer is the best time to visit Mata’s temple. The weather in the mountains is best during summer. At the same time, while traveling in monsoon and winter, you should keep in mind that there is a possibility of changing weather conditions. At the same time, there is a lot of crowd here on New Year’s Eve, Navratri and summer holidays, due to which one has to wait for a long time for darshan.

2. Clothes according to the season

Depending on the time of your visit here, you should keep clothes in your bag. If you are visiting in winter, carry gloves, scarves, and woolen clothes to keep yourself warm. Wear comfortable shoes even if you are not planning to trek.

3. Registration

It is very important for you to take care of your registration for travel. Registration takes place before starting the journey in Katra. You do not need to pay for this. From here you will get the registration slip. After the issue of this slip, you will have to cross the first checkpost within 6 hours.

4. Travel by Trek

If you have the option to take a trek then you can choose it. This temple is situated at an altitude of 5200 feet. So you should be prepared for a long walk. The track is good. If you do not want to opt for the track, you also have the option of climbing the steep stairs. This will give you a wonderful opportunity to witness the view of the rising sun from the midst of the mountain peaks.

If you don’t want to walk or are traveling with senior citizens, you also have the option of taking a pony ride. You can travel on Pony ride by paying as per fixed rate. However, battery operated autos are also available during day time.

6. Journey by helicopter

You also have the option of choosing a helicopter service. It is available from Katra to Sanjichhat Helipad. You need to book in advance to opt for the helicopter. Because there is a long line for this service.

7. Must visit this temple

The cave of Ardhkuwari temple is a must visit in the middle of Vaishno Devi journey. The journey of Maa Vaishno Devi is considered incomplete without visiting this temple.

Sanjichhat is a beautiful place situated at a distance of 3.25 km from Ardhkuwari. From here one can enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and the snow-capped Himalayan peaks.
