Bengal police use water cannons, tear gas to disperse protesting BJP workers

There has been a ruckus in Bengal over the BJP’s Nabanna campaign in West Bengal. BJP leaders are making a ruckus against the corruption of Mamata Banerjee government. BJP workers are being arrested in district-district. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari, MP Locket Chatterjee and former president Rahul Sinha have been taken into custody. Meanwhile, police and BJP workers clashed in Howrah. BJP workers tried to break the barricades, but failed. After that the police used water cannon and fired tear gas shells. Meanwhile, many have been injured in the clash between the police and the workers.

BJP has called for Nabanna campaign against Mamata government. BJP alleges that there is continuous corruption under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress ministers and TMC leaders are involved in it.

BJP supporters moving towards Nabanna threw bricks and stones at the police. Brick and stone pelted fiercely. The police were targeted. The police left water cannons against it. On the other hand, BJP Bengal President Sukanta Majumdar said that they are fighting in a democratic way. We are ready to take the pill. Ready to shoot to defend Bengal. The police are scared. The politics of the state has heated up regarding the BJP’s Nabanna campaign. The BJP has done this program by raising several complaints against the Trinamool government. The administration is trying to stop this program of BJP on Tuesday. The police did not allow this program.

According to police sources, two additional police commissioners are in charge of security in different parts of the city. 18 officers of DC rank are deployed in the security system. Apart from this, there are 32 assistant commissioners, 62 inspectors. The state BJP leadership is desperate to make the Naban campaign a success. This is an organizational test for the BJP ahead of the Panchayat elections. The aim of the BJP is to bring leaders and workers of the district and different blocks. In various parts of the district, there have been allegations of preventing BJP workers and supporters from taking part in the Nabanna campaign. Despite not getting permission from the police, the BJP is desperate to make the program a success.
