CM Health Insurance Scheme Registration Begins in Tarn Taran and Barnala

The Chief Minister said that within 10–12 days, registration in Tarn Taran and Barnala will be completed, after which the drive will be extended to other districts across Punjab.

Scheme is particularly beneficial for rural and economically weaker families

Under this scheme, each family in Punjab will receive health insurance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh, ensuring financial protection during medical emergencies and wider access to quality healthcare.

Officials noted that the scheme is particularly beneficial for rural and economically weaker families who often struggle with high medical costs. By covering expenses up to ₹10 lakh, the state aims to reduce out-of-pocket spending and prevent families from falling into debt due to sudden healthcare needs.

The government also plans to link the scheme with empaneled hospitals across the state to ensure beneficiaries have access to timely treatment without financial stress. Bhagwant Mann reiterated that the initiative is a step towards building a healthier Punjab where no family is denied treatment due to lack of money.
