Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government has intensified its push for urban cleanliness with the launch of the ‘Mera Patiala, Main Hi Sanwaran’ sanitation campaign in Patiala.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh inaugurated the cleanliness drive in Tripuri area of Patiala, marking a major step towards improving waste management and civic hygiene in the city.
Door-to-Door Waste Collection and Segregation
As part of the campaign, the Punjab government will provide separate dustbins for wet and dry waste to every household in Patiala. The initiative also includes a door-to-door garbage collection system, ensuring scientific waste segregation and disposal across the city.
Officials said the campaign aims to reduce open dumping, improve sanitation standards, and promote responsible waste management practices among residents.
Fine for Littering in Public Places
To strictly enforce cleanliness norms, the government has announced that fines will be imposed on individuals found dumping garbage in public places. Authorities will monitor hotspots to prevent roadside littering and illegal waste disposal.
Public Participation at the Core
During the launch, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh interacted with local residents and appealed to citizens to take ownership of their surroundings. He urged people to actively participate in keeping their localities and Patiala city clean and hygienic.
Clean Punjab Vision
The campaign reflects the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government’s vision of a clean, healthy, and citizen-driven Punjab. Officials emphasized that public cooperation is key to making cities cleaner and more livable.
