During a parents’ interaction programme at the Centre of Excellence for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders (COEANDD) at AIMS Mohali, the minister held detailed discussions with parents, caregivers, and medical experts on improving healthcare services for children with autism.
Dr Singh said the interaction focused on understanding parents’ experiences, suggestions, and concerns while exploring ways to strengthen early intervention, therapy, specialised treatment, and rehabilitation services. He noted that timely diagnosis and appropriate medical support can significantly improve the quality of life and long-term development of children with autism.

The minister said the Punjab Government is working to enhance access to modern healthcare facilities, expert treatment, and compassionate care so that every child receives the support needed to achieve their full potential.
He added that the government remains focused on building a stronger healthcare system for children with neurodevelopmental disorders by encouraging collaboration between healthcare professionals, experts, and families. According to Dr Singh, continuous feedback from parents will play an important role in improving specialised services and ensuring better outcomes for children across Punjab.
