Authorities emphasized that the consistent and large-scale operations are part of a long-term strategy to eliminate the drug menace from Punjab.

Bhagwant Mann continued its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, registering significant action on Day 395 with the arrest of 85 drug smugglers during coordinated raids across the state.

The operations were carried out under the supervision of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), targeting both major suppliers and local distribution networks. During the raids, police teams recovered 3.2 kg of heroin, 586 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and ₹21,780 suspected to be proceeds from drug-related activities. Officials stated that the intensified enforcement reflects a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and aims to break the supply chain at multiple levels.

Bhagwant Mann: Sustained Action Shows Impact

With the latest arrests, the cumulative number of drug smugglers apprehended over the past 395 days has reached 56,330. Authorities emphasized that the consistent and large-scale operations are part of a long-term strategy to eliminate the drug menace from Punjab, with regular monitoring and intelligence-based interventions being carried out across districts.

Focus on Rehabilitation Alongside Enforcement

In addition to strict legal action, Punjab Police is also working towards addressing drug addiction at the grassroots level. On this day, 20 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the administration’s dual approach of enforcement and recovery. Officials noted that encouraging addicts to seek treatment is crucial for reducing demand and ensuring long-term success of the campaign.

Government’s Commitment to Drug-Free Punjab

The anti-drug drive is being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who has consistently reiterated the government’s commitment to making Punjab drug-free. The administration has been combining strict policing, awareness campaigns, and rehabilitation initiatives to tackle the issue comprehensively.

Punjab Police has also appealed to the public to actively cooperate by sharing information about illegal activities, stating that community participation remains key to sustaining the momentum of the campaign and ensuring safer neighborhoods across the state.
