Bihar assembly election 2020 – voting for the first phase is over with around 53 % voting

The voting for the first phase of the largest election in the Corona era is over. On Wednesday, polling for the Bihar Assembly elections 2020 for 71 seats in 16 districts was held from 7 am to 6 pm. In this election, the voters of the total 1066 candidates who are trying their luck were decided by the voters.

Due to Corona, considerable precaution was taken in this election. The rules of social distancing were strictly followed. Voters who came to vote without masks were not allowed to vote. Tight security arrangements were made. Except for few incidents, the first phase of polling was peaceful.

There were also complaints of EVM malfunction at some centers when polling started on Wednesday morning. However, Election Commission personnel soon corrected it. In some areas, people boycotted the vote by accusing the leaders of not fulfilling the demands. In all, polling was done peacefully in all 71 seats. In this election going on in the Corona era, people were satisfied with the Election Commission’s arrangements and the voters also helped to follow the Corona Guidelines.

In 71 seats till 5 pm, 53.46 percent voting was done. Tight security arrangements were put in place for voting. Masks and sanitizers etc. were arranged at polling stations. According to Election Commission data, till 5 pm, 52.24 percent polling was recorded.
