BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi booked for threatening, abusing woman

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has distanced itself from Shrikant Tyagi, who is seen abusing a woman in a society in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Shrikant Tyagi has been accused of encroaching upon the common area while committing a ruckus in the society at Omaxe Grand located in Sector-93B. He was being described as a leader associated with the BJP. However, the BJP has denied this. Along with this, his connection with Swami Prasad Maurya has also come out.

The National Commission for Women has also called for the reply of the DGP of UP on this incident. Police also reached his house in search of Shrikant Tyagi. Four people, including wife and manager, are being taken into custody and interrogated. Along with this, 4 vehicles of Tyagi have also been seized.

“We have constituted four teams that are working to nab the accused Tyagi and have also detained his wife for questioning,” a senior police official told IANS.

The accused Shrikant Tyagi is said to be a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. According to information received from his Twitter handle, he is the National Executive Member of BJP (Kisan Morcha). A poster has been put up on his social media account, in which PM Narendra Modi, CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP chief JP Nadda are also pictured along with Tyagi. Not only this, there are pictures of him with big level leaders of BJP on social sites.

In the viral video, Shrikant Tyagi can be seen abusing a woman and trying to scuffle. This case is of Grand Omaxe Society in Sector 93-B of Noida. It is alleged that Tyagi is trying to build illegal possession here. He planted more than 20 trees in the green belt of the society, making it look like a private property. When a woman living in the society objected to this, Tyagi misbehaved with her. He abused the woman and her husband. Not only this, Tyagi also tried to scuffle with the woman. He also threatened that no one should touch the plant he planted.

The SP wrote on Twitter, ‘In Uttar Pradesh, power-protected BJP goons are insulting sisters and daughters every day. In Omaxe City, Noida, BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi gave abusive remarks to the woman, derogatory remarks. Embarrassing! Police should take strictest action by arresting the accused BJP leader at the earliest.’

Pankhuri Pathak, who was the Congress candidate from Noida in the assembly elections, said that this is not the first time that such behavior of BJP leaders against common people has come to the fore in the city. Local Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhupendra Jadaun also demanded strict action against Tyagi over the incident.
