BJP Targets Jawaharlal Nehru In Video On Partition, Congress Reacts

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a video targeting the Congress on the occasion of India’s second Partition Memorial Day. In this seven-minute video released by BJP, the party has released its version on the events of 1947.

In the video, Jawaharlal Nehru is said to be responsible for the partition of the country. Also, Nehru has been held responsible for succumbing to the demand of the Muslim League led by Mohammad Ali Jinnah to create Pakistan.

At the same time, countering this video released by BJP, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the prime minister’s real intention behind celebrating the partition on August 14 as the Partition Memorial Day is to use the most painful historical events for his political gain.

At the same time, he said that the efforts of modern-day Savarkar and Jinnah to divide the country are continuing even today. The BJP video shows Cyril John Radcliffe, whose partition map almost split Punjab and Bengal in half.

The question was asked how a person who has no knowledge of Indian cultural heritage was allowed to divide India in just a few weeks.

Visuals of Nehru are shown in the entire portion of the video released by BJP. Along with this, the horrors of Partition have been told in the voice over.

BJP has tweeted with this video and wrote that those who had no knowledge of India’s cultural heritage, civilization, values, pilgrimages, in just three weeks, they drew the border between people living together for centuries. Where were the people at that time who had the responsibility to fight against these divisive forces?

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh hit back on this video and tweeted one after the other and he said that the truth is that the principle of two nation was given by Savarkar. Jairam Ramesh wrote in tweeting that the truth is that Savarkar gave the principle of two nations and Jinnah took it forward. Patel had written, I think that if partition is not accepted, India will be divided into many pieces.

At the same time, he has asked whether the prime minister will also remember Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who supported the partition of Bengal against the wishes of Sarat Chandra Bose and joined independent India’s first cabinet, after the painful consequences of partition.

The tragedy of Partition should not be misused to incite hatred and prejudice. Lakhs of people were displaced and lost their lives. Their sacrifices should not be forgotten or humiliated. At the same time, he said that the Indian National Congress will continue the effort to unite the nation by carrying forward the legacy of Gandhi, Nehru, Patel and other leaders. The politics of hate will be defeated.

Communists were also convicted

At the same time, Indian communists have also been blamed for the partition in the BJP video. The BJP claims that their leaders supported the Muslim League and justified the demand for a separate Muslim country. On August 14 last year, PM Modi had announced that every year 14 August would be celebrated as ‘Vibhishan Vibhishika Memorial Day’ to remind the country of the sufferings and sacrifices of Indians during Partition in 1947. PM Modi has also tweeted about this on Sunday morning.
