2002: Tata Group's Purchase of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd

The group buys out Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. for a substantial amount. The first PSU in India to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange was VSNL, which was established in 1986.

2003: TCS Emerges as the First Indian Software Company to Surpass $1 Billion Revenue

The first Indian software company to generate more than $1 billion in revenue was Tata Consultancy Services. A year later, the company went public.

2004: Tata Motors Lists on the New York Stock Exchange

The New York Stock Exchange is home to Tata Motors' listing. In the same year, the company also purchases Daewoo Motors' heavy vehicle division.

2007: Tata Steel's Acquisition of Corus

The second-biggest steel producer in Europe, Corus, is an Anglo-Dutch company that Tata Steel has acquired.

2008: Tata Motors Unveils the Nano

The cheapest passenger car in the nation, the Nano, is unveiled by Tata Motors. Although it now costs between Rs. 1.5 and 2 lakh, it was originally known as the Rs. 1 lakh car.
