Dabur Group Chairman and Director Implicated in Mahadev Betting Case, Mumbai Police File FIR

According to the Mumbai Police FIR, the suspects in the Mahadev betting app case are Mohit Burman, the chairman of Dabur Group, and Gaurav Burman, the director.

Mahadev Betting Case: The Mumbai Police filed a formal complaint (FIR) in the Mahadev betting app case, naming 31 persons as suspects, including Mohit Burman, Chairman of the Dabur Group, and his Director, Gaurav Burman. Mohit and Gaurav Burman, two industrialists, are among the defendants listed in the FIR document that India Today obtained.

Mohit Burman’s Investment Firm Office Traced to Fort Mumbai

According to the Registrar of Companies, one of Mohit Burman’s investment firm offices is located in Fort Mumbai, which is the address listed alongside his name in the FIR. Social activist Prakash Bankar submitted a complaint, which led to the filing of a formal complaint on November 7. It was directed towards one of the Mahadev app’s subsidiaries, the Khiladi app.

Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal Lead Promotion Efforts

Along with a number of additional partners and associates, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal manage and promote the app. Mohit and Gaurav Burman are accused of having connections to a bookmaker involved in cricket league match-fixing, as per the complainant’s allegation in the First Information Report. Cricket matches played in India are allegedly fixed by London-based bookies Chander Agarwal and Dinesh Khambat. In the leagues, Chander Agrawal has backdoor connections and receives assistance from Hemant Sood from Dubai and Rohit Kumar Murgoi.

Mohit and Gaurav Burman’s Connection to Alleged Match-Fixers

According to the FIR, Mohit and Gaurav Burman were connected to Rohit Kumar Murgoi and Dinesh Khambat. It further claims that the industrialists have collaborated with another accused party and own equity in one of the cricket league clubs. The complainant further claimed that additional information and proof regarding the industrialists’ involvement in match-fixing will be uncovered by the investigation.

Mahadev Betting App Case Under Scrutiny

The Mahadev betting app matter is being looked upon by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In a chargesheet submitted in the case, the investigating agency cited fourteen individuals, including Sourabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal, and other accused Vikas Chhapariya, Chandrabhushan Verma, Satish Chandrakar, Anil Dammani, Sunil Dammani, Vishal Ahuja, and Dheeraj Ahuja. A number of Bollywood celebrities, including Sunny Leone, Huma Qureshi, Nushrat Bharucha, Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, and others, were also under investigation for endorsing the illicit betting software.
