Fuel rates rise for 15th time, Petrol price crosses ₹100 per litre

Petrol price in Mumbai crossed Rs 100 on Saturday. This month, the price of petrol has been increased for the 15th time. As per the notice the price hike of the government petroleum companies, the price of petrol has been increased by 26 paise per liter and diesel by 28 paise per liter. With the price of both fuels rising for the 15th time this month, their price has reached a record level in the country.

Petrol prices had already crossed Rs 100 in many cities of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and also crossed this figure in Mumbai on Saturday. In Mumbai, now the price of petrol has increased to Rs 100.19 per liter, while diesel has been increased to 92.17 per liter. Fuel prices vary across states based on local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.

Petrol in Delhi is currently available at Rs 93.94 per liter, while diesel is available at Rs 84.89 per liter. Fuel prices have been raised for the 15th time since May 4. At present, the price of petrol and diesel in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan is the highest in the country. There, their prices are Rs 104.94 per liter and Rs 97.79 per liter respectively.
