Gautam Adani: According to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, billionaire Gautam Adani defeated Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani to claim the title of richest Indian. Adani’s net worth has increased by Rs 1,612 crore a day over the past year, and with Rs 10,94,400 crore in wealth, it is now Rs 3 lakh crore higher than Ambani’s. Adani established seven firms with a market worth of Rs 1 lakh crore
Gautam Adani is the first Indian to have established not one, not two, but seven firms with a market worth of Rs 1 lakh crore by rapidly developing his commodity trading company into a coal-to-port-to-energy behemoth. Ambani, who previously held the title of richest Indian for ten years, is now ranked second on this year’s list with a net worth of Rs 7.94 lakh crore. Despite losing the top spot, Ambani’s wealth increased 11% last year thanks to daily wealth additions of Rs 210 crore, which made him the second-best performer behind Adani. Adani and Ambani together control 59% of the wealth held by the top 10 Indian billionaires.
