There is a calling rate of up to 1, although the first call to India cost Rs. 8.4 for 1 minute. This used to be a pretty large sum, and not everyone could afford it, according to those times. In such a case, the majority of people used to rely on landline mobiles, but as time passed, calling prices also decreased and it has now become relatively affordable.
