New Credit Card Rules: URGENT! Rules for HDFC, Axis Bank, SBI and ICICI Changed, Here's What Customers Can Expect

New Credit Card Rules: Several major banks, including HDFC Bank, SBI Card, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank, have implemented changes in rules affecting their credit cardholders. These modifications encompass alterations in facilities, rewards, and other terms associated with credit card usage. It is crucial for customers of these banks to stay informed about these changes to make the most of their credit card benefits.

1. SBI Card Credit Card Rules:

  • Discontinuation of cashback rewards for rent payment transactions through Paytm SBI Credit Card from January 1, 2024.
  • Reduction in reward points on EazyDiner online purchases on SimplyCLICK/SimplyCLICK Advantage SBI Card from 10X to 5X. However, other platforms like Apollo 24x7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Dominos, Myntra, Netmeds, and Yatra will still offer 10X reward points.

2. HDFC Bank Credit Card:

  • Changes in the lounge access program for Regalia and Millenia credit cards.
  • For HDFC Regalia Cardholders: Lounge access based on credit card spending. Two complimentary lounge access vouchers available in a quarter on spending Rs 1 lakh.
  • For HDFC Millenia Credit Cardholders: Similar conditions for lounge access. One complimentary lounge access voucher in a quarter.

3. ICICI Bank Credit Card Rules (Effective from April 1, 2024):

  • Changes in airport lounge access benefits on 21 credit cards.
  • Minimum spending of Rs 35,000 in a calendar quarter required in the preceding quarter for availing airport lounge access benefits.

4. Axis Bank Credit Card:

  • Alterations in Magnus Credit Card benefits, annual fees, and joining gifts.
  • Changes in terms and conditions of Axis Bank Reserve Credit Card.


Credit cardholders are advised to review the recent changes in rules by their respective banks to ensure they are aware of any adjustments in benefits, rewards, or spending requirements associated with their credit cards.
