Ola electric scooter: The founder and CEO of Ola Electric, Bhavish Agarwal, said on Twitter that his company sold over 25,000 scooters in the final month of the year 2022. Furthermore, he asserted that EV startups now hold a 30% market share. The number of Ola’s Experience Centers has increased to 100 locations around India, and more will be open by the end of March 2023.

The company’s S1 line of electric scooters recently received the Move OS 3.0 software upgrade from the manufacturer. Party mode, hyper charging, ride mood, Bluetooth calling, advanced re-generation, proximity lock/unlock, hill-hold control system, and other improvements are included in the over-the-air update.

Ola Electric scooter: Launch of S1 and S1 Pro

Ola has introduced the S1 Air in India, which is quite similar to the S1 and S1 Pro Duo and has a starting price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom). Unlike the S1 Pro, which has an 8.5 kW motor and a 4 kWh battery, it has a 2.5 kWh battery pack that can be fully charged in just four hours and 30 minutes.

4.5 kW of peak power may be generated by the electric motor, and it has a top speed of 90 kmph as opposed to 115 kmph in the S1 Pro. The under-storage capacity is 36 litres, which is significantly less than the S1 and S1 Pro, and the advertised riding range in Eco mode is 101 km.

Expectations were much higher than the result

The list of features also includes three riding modes, such as eco, normal, and sports, Bluetooth connectivity, numerous rider profiles, mood settings, a companion app, music playing, navigation, and a seven-inch touchscreen TFT display. With an increase of over 300 percent, 6,15,365 electric scooters and bikes are anticipated to be marketed in India in 2022. With sales of 1.50 lakh units, Ola has taken the lead.

By introducing new electric bikes and scooters in the premium and volume markets, Ola intends to increase the scope of its product offering by 2024. By 2024, Ola aims to have its first electric vehicle on the road, and by 2027, it plans to have six different electric four-wheelers in its lineup.
