Pankhuri Shrivastava, founder of Grabhouse and Pankhuri, dies at 32

Serial entrepreneur Pankhuri Shrivastava, founder of a women-focused social community platform called Pankhuri, passed away on Friday. She was 32.

‘Pankhuri’ which was founded in 2019 by Srivastava for women members to socialise, explore and upskill through live interactive courses, expert chat, and interest-based clubs. The platform enabled them to be active participants in beauty and lifestyle conversations online instead of being passive consumers.

Before Pankhuri, Shrivastava founded rental startup Grabhouse, which was sold to online classifieds company Quikr in a cash and equity deal in 2016.

A computer science engineer, Pankhuri graduated with an engineering degree from RGTU in Bhopal. She also taught in municipal schools in Mumbai under the fellowship program of Teach for India. Her Grabhouse idea was based on the thought of finding broker-free, community-based online exchange for locating accommodation on a rent basis.
