Petrol and diesel price update: Fuel price stayed the same today. On May 21, the Centre reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre, causing the last shift in the country's fluctuation in petrol costs.

The prices are adjusted daily according to international prices and foreign exchange rates by the public sector oil marketing corporations (OMCs), such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL). Each day at six in the morning, the price of fuel and diesel is changed.

The current price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per litre, while the current price of diesel is Rs 89.62 per litre. Petrol costs Rs 106.31 a litre and diesel costs Rs 94.27 in Mumbai. Diesel costs Rs 92.76 and petrol Rs 106.03 per litre in Kolkata, respectively. On the other side, in Chennai, petrol costs Rs 102.63 and diesel Rs 94.24 a litre.
