Petrol and Diesel Price Update: Indian oil companies keeps fuel rate stable

Petrol and diesel price update [1 December, 2022]: Amidst the ongoing increase in the price of crude oil in the international market, fuel prices remain unchanged for another day in the country on Thursday.

On May 22, an Excise duty reduction of Rs. 8 per litre was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on petrol and Rs. 6 per litre on diesel.

The fuel prices have remained steady for six months now. Apart from that, the Maharashtra state government had announced a Value Added Tax (VAT) cut on the fuel prices in the state. Petrol was reduced by Rs. 5 per litre and diesel by Rs. 3 per liter.

The difference in the price of fuel in the states are due to the tax and the cost of transportation imposed by the central and state government.

How to check petrol and diesel price in your city:

Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates daily, taking into account crude and rupee-dollar rates in international markets. Daily price changes for fuel are effected at 6 am every day.
