Punjab National Bank (PNB) delivered a strong financial performance in PNB Q3 Results, reporting a net profit of ₹4,508.21 crore, marking a 103% increase from ₹2,222.8 crore in the same period last year. On a quarterly basis, profit rose by 5% from ₹4,303 crore in Q2 FY25.
PNB Q3 Results Reflect Revenue and NII Growth
In the latest PNB Q3 Results, the bank’s total income jumped 16% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹34,751.7 crore from ₹29,961.65 crore in Q3 FY24. On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, it saw a marginal rise of 1% from ₹34,447.10 crore in Q2 FY25. Additionally, net interest income (NII) increased by 7.2% YoY, reaching ₹11,033 crore compared to ₹10,293 crore in the previous year.
Strong Improvement in Asset Quality
One of the key takeaways from PNB Q3 Results is the significant improvement in asset quality. The bank’s Gross NPA dropped to ₹45,413.98 crore, improving from ₹60,371.38 crore in Q3 FY24 and ₹47,582.25 crore in the last quarter. The Gross NPA ratio declined to 4.09% from 6.24% YoY and 4.48% in Q2 FY25. Meanwhile, the net NPA ratio fell to 0.41% from 0.96% YoY and 0.66% QoQ, with net NPA reducing to ₹4,437.43 crore from ₹4,674.24 crore in the previous quarter.
PNB Q3 Results Indicate Strong Operational and Financial Growth
According to PNB Q3 Results, the bank’s operating profit for Q3 FY25 stood at ₹6,620 crore, reflecting a 4.6% YoY growth. The credit-deposit ratio improved to 69.95% from 69.24% YoY and 69.91% in Q2 FY25. Additionally, PNB Q3 Results reported a provision write-back of ₹285 crore, compared to a provision of ₹288 crore in the previous quarter. However, provisions against NPAs rose to ₹317 crore from ₹199 crore in Q2 FY25.
