Punjab News: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab continues to witness a significant boost in revenue from property registrations. In August 2024, the state generated ₹440.92 crore from stamp duty and registrations, marking a 26.24% increase compared to ₹349.26 crore collected in August 2023. This consistent rise in revenue is attributed to the Mann government’s focus on clean governance and transparency in public services.

Revenue Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa highlighted the government’s commitment to providing corruption-free and transparent services to the people of Punjab. He noted that the ongoing reforms, including the lifting of the NOC (No Objection Certificate) requirement, have further facilitated property registrations, leading to greater revenue generation.

The August increase follows previous revenue spikes, with June 2024 recording ₹452.96 crore, a 42% jump compared to ₹319.33 crore in June 2023, and May 2024 seeing ₹526.36 crore in revenue, up 22% from ₹430.63 crore in May 2023.
The revenue minister expressed optimism about continued growth, stating that property registrations are expected to rise further in the coming months due to the abolition of the NOC condition, contributing to Punjab’s financial strength.
The Mann government’s reforms and focus on clean administration have been central to the state’s economic upliftment, setting the stage for further progress in the near future.
