Gold prices on Friday rose by Rs 294 to Rs 51,236 per 10 grams in the national capital. Due to this, the precious yellow metal had closed at Rs 50,942 per 10 grams in the previous trading day.

Along with gold, the price of other silver has also registered an increase. Silver rose by Rs 523 to Rs 62,577 per kg from the previous trading day at Rs 62,054 per kg.

In the international market, both gold and silver were trading flat at USD 1,866 an ounce and USD 22.35 an ounce, respectively. HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said that gold was trading marginally lower at USD 1,866 an ounce on COMEX on Friday in line with the spot price of gold.

The world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, SPDR Gold Trust, said its holdings fell 0.1 per cent to 1,066.04 tonnes on Thursday, from 1,067.20 tonnes in the previous session. Platinum gained 0.2 percent to reach $ 1,024.57. It is poised for a weekly growth of around 7.4 per cent, the highest since May 2021. Palladium rose 0.5 per cent to $2,064.20.
