Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty indicates a bearish start on positive international cues

Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty index on the NSE IX trading 26 points, or 0.13 percent, lower at 19,712 to indicate that Dalal Street was about to get off to a bad start. Today, when the Nifty ended 73 points lower, a red candle with a tiny upper shadow emerged on the daily chart, signalling a sell on rise opportunity in the market.

Tokyo stocks opened higher

As investors followed Wall Street gains and awaited this week's crucial central bank interest-rate decisions, Tokyo equities opened higher on Tuesday.The broad Topix index increased 0.12 percent, or 2.77 points, to 2,283.95, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.04 percent, or 14.62 points, to 32,715.56 in early trade.

Stock Market Today: Wall Street and Rupees

In a week loaded with earnings releases and a Federal Reserve meeting, the Dow Jones Industrial Average led Wall Street higher on Monday and recorded its longest winning streak in six years. On Monday, the rupee strengthened by 17 paise to settle at 81.81 against the US dollar after a strong increase in India's foreign exchange reserves improved the confidence of investors.

US markets

After the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded its longest winning streak since February 2017, US market futures were unchanged on Monday night. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 12 points, or 0.03 percent. S&P 500 futures decreased by 0.03 percent, and Nasdaq 100 futures also decreased by 0.04 percent.
