Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty indicates a bearish start; TCS, Vodafone Idea in focus

The NSE IX's GIFT Nifty dropped to 22,590, signalling that Dalal Street will have a dismal start today.

Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX fell by 112 points and reached to 22,590, indicating that Dalal Street would have a poor start on Monday. Today, a number of businesses, including Atam Valves, GTPL Hathway and many more will release their fourth quarter financial reports. On the weekly scale, the Nifty finished 234 points down and formed a Doji candle. The index showed weakness on the daily charts as it closed below the lows of the preceding three trading sessions. The opening oil prices in Asia today decreased as market players reduced risk premiums when their government stated about the damage in the wake of Iran- Israel fight.

Vodafone-Idea

Vodafone Idea announced on Friday that it intends to conduct the largest follow-on public offering, selling shares for up to Rs 18,000 crore. Under the FPO, the business will issue its shares at a price range of Rs 10–11 a share, which is lower than the closing price of Rs 12.96 on the BSE on Friday.

TCS

Tata Consultancy Services’ attrition rate has been declining over the course of the last several quarters, and it comfortably reached 12.5% in the fourth quarter. The Tata Group company anticipates a further 30–50 basis point decrease in attrition in the future. Executive vice president and chief human resources officer Milind Lakkad informed FE Rajesh Kurup in an interview that the company plans to hire 40,000 fresh graduates this year as well.

Hindustan Unilever

The trademark dispute between Emami and HUL regarding Glow & Handsome men’s fairness lotion may get more heated. Sources told FE that HUL might file a challenge against the single-bench ruling issued by the Calcutta High Court on April 9 restricting the use of the trademark as early as next week. Experts speculated that the appeal might be brought before a division bench of the court.
