Stock Market Today: The Sensex climbs 250 points and the Nifty above 21,500 in the morning opening session. The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex ended the day at 71,337, up 230 points or 0.32%. The overall NSE Nifty finished at 21,441, up 92 points, or 0.43%. IT giant Wipro filed a lawsuit against its former CFO, Jatin Dalal, in a Bengaluru civil court, the Times of India said on Wednesday. On December 1, Dalal started as the CFO at competitor Cognizant. Dalal has reportedly asked the court to send the case to arbitration in an application that he filed. The U.S. dollar index, which compares its value to six competitors, was trading at 101.54, not far from the five-month low of 101.42 it reached last week.

Adani Ports

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (Adani Ports) shares will be under scrutiny today after the Adani group firm announced that its board of directors would meet on Wednesday, January 3, to consider and approve a proposal to issue non-convertible debentures through a public offering, preferential allotment, and/or combination thereof, as may be considered appropriate, or any other eligible securities, subject to regulatory or statutory approvals, as may be required.

Adani Energy Solutions

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd shares will be under scrutiny today after the Adani group firm announced the signing of a share purchase agreement with PFC Consulting for the acquisition of 100% of Halvad Transmission Limited (HTL). Furthermore, Adani Group announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Adani Transmission Step-Four Ltd has entered into a definitive agreement for the formation of a 49:51 joint venture with UAE-based Esyasoft Holdings to implement Smart Metering projects in India and globally.

Vedanta

The metals and mining conglomerate will begin trading ex-dividend on December 27. For FY24, the company has declared an interim dividend of Rs 11 per share.
