Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty indicates a bullish start; BPCL, HPCL in focus

The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX increased today, giving Dalal Street an early lead.

Stock Market Today: Dalal Street appeared to be off to a good start today. The GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX moved higher by almost 55.5 points and reached to 22,144.50. Widespread selling pressure caused the Indian headline indices to drop sharply on Yesterday. At its lowest point of the day, 72,334.18, the S&P BSE Sensex fell by 1130 points. Likewise, the more general Nifty50 fell short of the critical 22,000 level by 370 points. KEI Industries, Tata Motors, Infosys, Godfrey Phillips, and Data Patterns are the five stocks that are recommended. Today will see the announcement of many firms’ fourth quarter results, including Cipla, Bank of Baroda, and Tata Motors.

BPCL

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, is the owner of the public sector undertaking (PSU) Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). It runs three refineries in Mumbai, Bina, and Kochi. The state-owned BPCL reported a 35% decrease in its standalone net profit for the fourth quarter on Thursday, coming in at Rs 4,224 crore as opposed to Rs 6,478 crore during the same period last year.

HPCL

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, owns the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), which is the parent company of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), an Indian public sector enterprise in the petroleum and natural gas business with its headquarters located in Mumbai. On Thursday, Hindustan Petroleum declared a final dividend of Rs 16.50 and a bonus share issuance of 1:2.
