Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty indicates a flat start; HDFC Bank Q2 net profit rises 50 percent

GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX rose 4.5 points to 19815.50, suggesting that Dalal Street will begin Tuesday with a sluggish start.

Stock Market Today: GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX increased by 4.5 points to 19815.50, indicating that Dalal Street will open to a slow start on Tuesday. The Nifty traded sideways today between 19700 and 19780, forming an Inside Body candle to signify conflict between bulls and bears. Today, a number of businesses, including Bajaj Finance, ICICI Pru Life, LTTS, Happiest Minds, and many others, will report their second quarter financial results.

Rupee rises by 3 paise

The rupee strengthened by 3 paise to close the day at 83.27 against the US dollar after consolidating in a constrained range. After falling by more than $1 on Monday, oil prices stabilised on Tuesday on expectations that the United States will relax its sanctions against producer Venezuela and as Washington ramped up its efforts to stop the conflict between Israel and Hamas from getting worse.

Stock Market Today: HDFC Bank Q2 net profit rises 50 percent

In its maiden report following its merger with Housing Development Finance Corp (HDFC), HDFC Bank on October 16 posted a net profit of Rs 15,976.11 crore for the quarter ending in September, an increase of slightly more than 50% year over year. Sequentially, net profit increases by 33.7 percent. The bank’s net interest income increased by nearly 30% year over year in the reporting quarter to Rs 27,385 crore. It was Rs 28,617 billion over the same time period the previous year.
