Stock Market Today: GIFT NSE IX's Nifty index fell 38 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 19,625, indicating that Dalal Street would have a bad start to the day on Thursday. On the daily chart, Nifty on Wednesday finished 36 points higher, forming a small bullish candle with a short upper and big lower shadow.
Rupee falls; Tokyo stocks opened lower
Weighed down by a rise in crude oil prices and a strong US dollar on Wednesday, the rupee lost 9 paisas and ended the day at an all-time low of 83.13 against the US dollar. Following losses on Wall Street due to concerns about rising oil prices and potential future interest rate hikes, Tokyo equities began lower on Thursday.The broad Topix index was down 0.29 percent, or 6.86 points, at 2,385.67, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.31 percent, or 102.78 points, at 33,138.24 in early trade.

TCS will work with JLR to develop a new, strategic IT architecture that is prepared for the future and will assist JLR's Reimagine initiative. The new alliance, estimated to be worth £800 million over the following five years.
Hero MotoCorp
Through a rights sale, the manufacturer of electric vehicles raised Rs 900 crore from its current investors, Hero MotoCorp and GIC. The company intends to use the capital to introduce new products and expand its retail network and infrastructure for charging.
