Stock Market Today: The Nifty is up 165.50 points at 19,609, while the Sensex is up 534.80 points at 65,468.67. A little over 1936 shares increased, 354 shares decreased, and 161 shares stayed the same. November 15 see a good start for Indian indexes, with Nifty closing above 19,600. Power Grid Corporation is a loser on the Nifty, while notable winners are Hindalco Industries, Coal India, Infosys, JSW Steel, and Adani Enterprises.
Tokyo stocks opened higher; Dollar down
In the wake of Wall Street’s significant gains, which fueled prospects of an end to interest rate hikes, Tokyo markets began higher on Wednesday. The Topix index gained 1.12 percent, or 26.32 points, to 2,371.61, while the benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.58 percent, or 516.99 points, to 33,212.92 in early trading. After plunging dramatically the previous night, the dollar faltered at essentially lower levels on Wednesday as expectations that the Federal Reserve has completed its cycle of monetary tightening were reinforced by an unexpectedly weaker U.S. inflation reading.
Stock Market Today: NMDC Q2 net profit jumps to Rs 1024.86 crore
The largest producer of iron ore in India, National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), reported a 15.7 percent increase in consolidated net profit in the second quarter due to strong demand. In the first quarter, NMDC’s net profit was Rs 1,661.04 crore, a 38 percent decrease. From Rs 3,328.5 crore in the previous year to Rs 4,013.98 crore in the September quarter, the company’s operating revenue increased by 20%. Net profit increased 15.6% to Rs 1,027.63 crore on an independent basis.
