Stock Market Today: The Nifty futures contract on the Singapore Exchange rose 36 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 18,756.50, indicating that Dalal Street will open Friday on a strong note. On the daily chart, Nifty created a red candle with an upper shadow, which analysts claim might be viewed as a short-term reversal pattern on the downside.

Tokyo shares open higher

As investors started to purchase again following advances on Wall Street, Tokyo shares began higher on Friday.The larger Topix index increased 0.83 percent, or 18.09 points, to 2,209.59 and the benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.86 percent, or 272.64 points, to reach 31,913.91.

Stock Market Today: Rupee gains; oil falls

Following the Reserve Bank's decision to hold the benchmark interest rate steady, the rupee strengthened by 1 paisa to end the day at 82.51 against the US dollar on Thursday. Early Friday morning Asian trade saw a decline in oil prices as investor doubts about the probability of an agreement between the United States and Iran over its nuclear programme exceeded supply concerns from international suppliers.
