Stock Market Today: The larger Indian index is off to a flat start, according to trends on the Singapore Exchange Nifty, up 13 points. On the Singapore Exchange, Nifty futures were trading at about 18,703 points. Among the top gainers on the Nifty were M&M, Titan Company, SBI Life Insurance, Tata Steel, and Coal India, while losers included ONGC, Power Grid Corporation, HCL Technologies, Divis Laboratories, and Maruti Suzuki. All sectoral indices, with the exception of IT and oil & gas, finished in the green, with the metal index rising 1%.
Asian shares mostly in green
The majority of Asian markets were trading in green, with the Hang Seng in Hong Kong rising 0.45%, the Shanghai Composite index in China rising 0.22%, the KOSPI in South Korea rising 0.92%, and the Nikkei 225 in Japan declining 0.5%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), S&P 500, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq all completed the overnight session in the black for the US market.
Dollar rate drops
Tuesday saw a decline in the value of the US dollar versus a basket of other currencies, but it stayed close to a two-month high after a deal to raise the US debt ceiling boosted risk sentiment, even though the pact may have trouble getting through Congress.
Away from the two-month high of 104.42 it reached on Friday, the dollar index, which compares the value of the dollar to six significant rivals, fell 0.125% to 104.17. The index is anticipated to increase by 2.5% at the month's end.
Stock Market Today: NTPC Renewable Energy
A 150MW wind power project has been ordered by Inox Wind from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, the RE business vertical of NTPC Limited.
The Gujarat state will be where the project is carried out. With this contract, Inox Wind has now received 550MW in total from NTPC orders. The share's closing price at the previous trading session was Rs 134, up 14.68 percent or Rs 17.15.
