Stock Market Today: SGX Nifty indicates downturn; Nifty, Sensex likely to remain volatile

Stock Market Today: On F&O expiry, domestic indexes could stay volatile due to conflicting global impulses. In today's early morning session, the Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) were trading 57.5 points, or 0.31%, lower at 18,606.5. Hong Kong's Hang Seng increased by 0.5%, the Asia Dow increased by 1.12%, Japan's Nikkei 225 increased by 0.22%, China's Shanghai Composite index decreased by 0.17%, and South Korea's KOSPI decreased by 0.3% during the trading day on Asian markets.

Stock Market Today: Stocks to watch

Adani Group intends to raise $3.5 billion from institutional investors by selling equity shares, while Tata Consultancy Services' new CEO assumes full-time leadership. In a $563 million offer for sale, Coal India plans to sell up to 3% of the company, while Welspun Corp. saw its net profit decline by 8.9%. To comply with minimum public shareholding requirements, Patanjali Foods intends to offer shares through Qualified Institutions Placement and Offer for Sale. While Lupin gained US FDA licence to market a generic drug, NRB Bearings announced consolidated sales growth during Q4FY23. Three organisations connected to Coffee Day Enterprises received a fine from the National Financial Reporting Authority for alleged auditing malpractice.

Asian markets trading mixed

Hong Kong's Hang Seng increased by 0.5%, the Asia Dow increased by 1.12%, Japan's Nikkei 225 increased by 0.22%, China's Shanghai Composite index decreased by 0.17%, and South Korea's KOSPI decreased by 0.3% during the trading day on Asian markets.

Us Market ended up in Red

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), the S&P 500, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq all concluded the overnight session in the red as the US market did as well. The BSE Sensex slid 346.89 points or 0.55% to 62,622.24 on Wednesday, while the NSE Nifty 50 dropped 99.45 points or 0.53% to 18,534.40. In terms of sectoral indices, the Bank Nifty fell 308.20 points or 0.69% to 44,128.15, the Nifty Metal fell 46.50 points or 0.78% to 5,890.05, and the Nifty Oil & Gas fell 94.75 points or 1.26% to 7,432.15; however, the Nifty Pharma rose 73.70 points or 0.58% to 12,678.40; and the Nifty Realty rose 3.60 points or 0.76% to 478.80.
