Stock Market Today: Tokyo markets open higher
Tokyo markets opened marginally higher on Tuesday, boosted by a weaker yen, after Wall Street closed lower owing to investor trepidation ahead of crucial central bank announcements. In early trade, the Nikkei 225 index was up 0.06 percent, or 15.78 points, at 27,449.18, while the wider Topix index was up 0.30 percent, or 5.95 points, at 1,988.35.
Oil steadies after falling on rate hike worries, Russian crude flows
Oil prices were steady in early Asian trade on Tuesday after plunging more than 2% the previous session due to the fear of additional interest rate hikes and ongoing Russian oil flows. Brent crude prices were up 28 cents to $85.18 a barrel by 0155 GMT, while WTI crude futures in the United States were up 9 cents to $77.99.
