The KPMG 2022 CEO Outlook survey: More than 1,300 chief executive officers (CEOs) of the world's biggest companies show that 86% of these global leaders expect a recession to hit in the next year. But 58% of these leaders think that the recession will be mild and short. A survey called the KPMG 2022 CEO Outlook found that a recession is one of the top concerns for 14% of senior executives, which is up from 9% in early 2022. However, pandemic fatigue is the top concern for 15% of executives. During the survey, these leaders were asked about their plans and plans for the future.
Global CEOs predict a recession next year
More than eight out of ten (86%) global CEOs think there will be a recession in the next year, and 71% think it will cut company earnings by up to 10%. Most top executives think that a recession will stop the growth that was expected (73%). It also said that three-quarters (76%) have already taken precautions because a recession is coming.
Even with these concerns, senior executives are much more optimistic (73%) about the economy's strength over the next six months than they were in February (60%) when KPMG polled 500 CEOs for its CEO Outlook Pulse survey.

71% of executives are positive about global economic growth
Also, 71% of leaders are optimistic about the growth of the global economy over the next three years, which is up from 60% at the beginning of 2022. 85% of leaders are optimistic about the growth of their organization over the next three years.

Maria Dolores Dancausa of Bankinter, Nicola Downing of Ricoh Europe, Alexis George of AMP, Takahito Tokita of Fujitsu, and TV Narendran of Tata Steel are all CEOs who took part in the survey.
Bill Thomas, global chairman and CEO of KPMG, said, "Tested by a global pandemic, inflationary pressures, and geopolitical tensions in quick succession, it's encouraging that CEOs we surveyed for our 2022 CEO Outlook were confident in their companies' resilience and relatively optimistic about their growth prospects."
