Top 5 stocks of the day: Britannia Industries, Hindalco Industries, IndusInd Bank, Apollo Hospitals, and Eicher Motors are the top gainers on the Nifty, while Hero MotoCorp, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance, and ONGC were the top losers. Every sectoral index had a gain of 1-2 percent at the end, with the exception of metal, capital goods, FMCG, electricity, oil & gas, and real estate. The BSE Smallcap and Midcap indices both saw a 1% increase.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The Nifty was up 144.10 points, or 0.76 percent, at 19,133.30, and the Sensex was up 489.57 points, or 0.77 percent, at 64,080.90, at the closing. Approximately 140 shares were unchanged, 1287 shares fell, and 2236 shares increased. In the end, benchmark indices recovered from their two-session losses, with Nifty closing above 19,100.

REC was trading almost 7 percent higher

A day after the state-run corporation released positive financial results for the September quarter of the current fiscal year, REC was up over 7% at midday on November 2. In a regulatory filing, REC, formerly known as Rural Electrification Corporation, recorded a 30.72 percent year-over-year growth in profit at Rs 3,789.90 crore. At R. 12,193.52 crore, its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 32.98 percent from the same time last year. With net sales of Rs 11,688.24 crore, the quarter’s revenues were 17.4% more than a year earlier.
