Top 5 stocks of the day: On the Nifty, the top losers included NTPC, Reliance Industries, TCS, Power Grid Corporation, and Coal India, while winners included Cipla, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Enterprises, Tata Consumer Products, and Divis Laboratories. On a sectoral level, the auto and pharmaceutical industries both had gains of 1%, while the metal and FMCG industries saw gains of 5% apiece. The BSE smallcap index increased 0.7 percent, while the midcap index increased 1 percent.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The benchmark indices on June 26 had a turbulent session but ended level. At closure, the Nifty was up 25.70 points or 0.14 percent at 18,691.20, while the Sensex was down 9.37 points or 0.01 percent at 62,970.00. 170 shares remained steady, 1,715 shares fell, and 1,818 shares were in the green.

Tata Consumer zooms as Citi begins coverage with 'buy' rating, sees 21% upside

With a bullish price objective of Rs 1,020, brokerage company Citi has started coverage on FMCG giant Tata Consumer Products, suggesting a possible gain of 21 percent from Friday's closing price.

Given its positive outlook, Citi is also the first of the 25 brokerages that cover the stock to predict that Tata Consumer shares will surpass the Rs 1,000 threshold.

The brokerage firm also predicts that the company would enhance its position in its core categories, contributing a higher percentage of overall sales—27% as opposed to 15% previously—to the business.
