Top 5 Stocks Of The Day: IndusInd Bank, Coal India, ONGC, Adani Ports, and SBI Life Insurance are the Nifty's biggest losses, while Cipla, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, and Dr Reddy's Laboratories are the top gainers. On January 23, benchmark indices closed lower for the second straight day, with the Nifty trading at 21,250. Except for pharmaceuticals, all other sectoral indicators are down. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices are down roughly 3% each.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The wider NSE index slid 326.85 points, to 21,244.95 as HDFC Bank led a decline in financials and Zed Entertainment sank more than 32 percent on the collapse of its merger with Sony's India unit. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 1,053.1 points, to 70,370.55. The benchmark five-year swap rate dropped 2 basis points to 6.17 percent, while the one-year overnight index swap rate decreased 2 basis points to 6.60 percent. The overnight call money rate in India increased by 105 basis points to 6.80%. In contrast to the weighted average of 6.8500 percent the day before, the overnight TREPS rate was 6.92 percent.
