The Sensex closed up 240.98 points, or 0.37 percent, at 65,628.14, while the Nifty gained 93.50 points, or 0.48 percent, at 19,528.80. Approximately 2210 shares rose, 1425 fell, and 182 were unchanged. On September 4, benchmark indices ended higher for the second straight session, owing to buying across the board. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices both increased by roughly 1%.

Bharti Airtel renewable energy for its Nxtra data centre company
Bharti Airtel would purchase 23,000 MWh of renewable energy for its Nxtra data centre company by Q4FY 23-24. As part of its aim to minimising its carbon impact, Airtel will buy interests in the renewable energy project companies established by Continuum Green India Pvt. Ltd. and Vibrant Energy Holdings Pte. Ltd. to power six of Nxtra's Edge data centre sites.
