Top 5 stocks of the day : Top gainers include Hero MotoCorp, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, LTIMindtree and UPL while among the top Nifty losses are Divis Laboratories, Nestle India, TCS, IndusInd Bank, and Asian Paints. Metal index rose 1.3 percent, PSU bank index rose 0.7 percent, and auto index rose 0.4 percent. Real estate and healthcare indices, on the other hand, finished lower. The BSE Midcap index increased 0.25 percent, while the Smallcap index increased 0.3 percent.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The Sensex closed down 115.81 points, or 0.17 percent, at 66,166.93, while the Nifty fell 19.20 points, or 0.10 percent, to 19,731.80. Around 1992 shares rose, 1669 fell, and 152 were constant. In a tumultuous session on October 16, benchmark indices finished lower.

Indian Bank has declared NPAs worth Rs 24.76 crore

Indian Bank has reported non-performing assets (NPAs) of Rs 24.76 crore, including Rs 16.20 crore from Samsarapu Polaraju, Samsarapu Narasimha Raju, and Maheswari Constructions & Engineering Works, all of which filed forged documents and diverted funds. Furthermore, due to fund diversion, the bank declared NPAs for Rs 8.56 crore from S V Exports.
