Top 5 stocks of the day: Weaker-than-expected earnings drags UPL down for second day, worst hit in Nifty 50
UPL stock fell for a second session as a result of the company's weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings, which were disclosed on Monday. The stock has currently lost about 5% over the course of two sessions.
The fourth quarter of FY22-23 saw weaker-than-expected earnings from agri-input company UPL Ltd. A one-time loss, poor operational metrics, and slower-than-expected development in the Latin American market were the main factors holding back the company's headline financial results.
The company's combined net profit for the months of January through March decreased by 43% from the prior year to Rs 792 crore. However, UPL's revenue increased by 4% to Rs 16,569 crore in the fourth quarter of FY22-23.
