On March 28, benchmark indices finished lower after a tumultuous session. The Sensex closed down 40.14 points, or 0.07%, at 57,613.72, while the Nifty fell 34 points, or 0.20%, to 16,951.70. Around 1020 shares rose, 2438 fell, and 97 remained unchanged.

Top 5 stocks of the day: Adani Group stocks tumble
Adani Group shares fell on March 28 after the Economic Times reported that the company is attempting to renegotiate the conditions of its $4 billion loans for the acquisition of ACC and Ambuja Cements. The group’s USD bonds also fell. Adani Enterprises Ltd fell 7.7%, while Adani Ports fell 6.33%. Adani Wilmar Ltd, Adani Power Ltd, Adani Green Energy Ltd, Adani Total Gas Ltd, NDTV Ltd, and Adani Transmission Ltd all saw a 5% drop in value. ACC Ltd declined 5.4%, while Ambuja Cement fell 3%. 12 of the 15 Adani USD bonds reviewed by Bloomberg have dropped in value. The price of Adani International Container Terminal, which matures in February 2031, decreased by 0.7 cents to 75.48 cents, the lowest since early February.
