Top 5 stocks of the day: Larsen and Toubro, Coal India, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, and HDFC were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while Eicher Motors, M&M, IndusInd Bank, Adani Enterprises, and NTPC were among the losers. While selling was observed in the auto, power, and PSU banks, the capital goods, FMCG, and information technology sector indices all increased by 1-2 percent. While the smallcap index gained 1%, the BSE midcap index finished unchanged.

On April 5, benchmark indices finished higher, with Nifty closing at roughly 17550. At closing, the Nifty was up 159.00 points or 0.91% at 17,557, and the Sensex was up 582.87 points or 0.99% at 59,689.31. Around 2540 shares rose, 911 shares fell, and 106 shares were unchanged.

Carysil arm to buy 70% stake in UK firm The Tap Factory

A subsidiary of Carysil, Carysil UK, has agreed to pay 1.16 million pounds to buy 70% of the equity shares of "The Tap Factory Limited," a company situated in Yorkshire, UK. It has the option to purchase the remaining 30% in the following two years in two tranches of 15% each. The acquisition will help the company improve its position in the UK kitchen and bathroom segment by giving it access to the Tap's design and marketing expertise in those markets.

On Wednesday, the Indian rupee strengthened by 0.43 percent to surpass the 82-mark versus the US dollar, following gains in Asian currencies. The important Central Bank of India's bimonthly policy is anticipated by analysts. The currency was up 0.43 percent from its previous close at 2.32 p.m., trading at 81.98. Thai Baht increased by 0.49 percent, South Korean won increased by 0.46 percent, and Philippine Peso increased.
