Top 5 stocks of the day: Coal India, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Cipla, and LTIMindtree were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while Titan Company, Grasim Industries, Hero MotoCorp, SBI, and BPCL were the top losers. PSU Bank, capital goods, FMCG, real estate, and healthcare sector indices all increased by 0.5–1 percent, however some selling was observed in the oil and gas names. The BSE smallcap and midcap indices both increased by 0.6 percent.

The Nifty was up 51.80 points at 19,716.50 at closure, and the Sensex was up 173.22 points or 0.26 percent at 66,118.69. A total of 1921 shares rose, 1616 fell, and 143 were unchanged. In the choppy session on September 27, benchmark indices closed higher, with Nifty above 19,700.

JSW subscribed 17.15 times
On the last day of bidding, the initial public offering (IPO) by JSW Infrastructure, a subsidiary of the JSW Group, has been subscribed 17.15 times. Retail investors, who have a 10% reservation in the public offering, have purchased 8.89 times their permitted quota, while the 15% of the overall offering reserved for high net worth persons has been subscribed to 13.85 times. Generally regarded as medium- to long-term investors, qualified institutional buyers (QIB) have bid 21.55 times their reserved part, or 75% of the offering size.
