Top 5 stocks of the day: Hero MotoCorp, Tech Mahindra, TCS, HCL Technologies, and Infosys are major gainers on the Nifty, while Axis Bank, Coal India, Power Grid Corporation, Tata Consumer Products, and Adani Enterprises were major losers. Among industries, the information technology index climbed over 3%, while real estate, oil and gas, and auto each gained 1%. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices both gained 1%.

The Sensex closed up 306.55 points, or 0.47 percent, at 65,982.48, while the Nifty closed up 89.70 points, or 0.46 percent, at 19,765.20. Around 1964 shares rose, 1665 fell, and 109 remained constant. On November 16, benchmark indices finished higher for the second straight session, with the Nifty hovering around 19,750.

Reserve Bank of India
Bajaj Finance shares recovered after plunging 4.1% in early trade on Thursday as brokerages dismissed worries, a day after India’s central bank stopped it from extending loans under two products with immediate effect. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the non-bank lender failed to provide critical information to borrowers through its eCOM and Insta EMI Card digital lending products, as required by the RBI’s new digital lending standards.
