Top 5 Stocks Of The Day: Adani Enterprises, Coal India, Adani Ports, Power Grid Corporation, and NTPC are the biggest losers on the Nifty, whilst ITC, UltraTech Cement, HCL Technologies, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ICICI Bank are the winners. With losses ranging from 4 to 6 percent, the remaining sectoral indexes were Realty, Media, PSU Bank, Telecom, Power, Oil & Gas, and Metals. The BSE Smallcap and Midcap indices are down 4% to 5%.

The Nifty was down 338.00 points, or 1.51 percent, at 21,997.70 at the closing, while the Sensex was down 906.07 points, or 1.23 percent, at 72,761.89. Approximately 3202 shares fell, 38 shares remained steady, and 290 shares advanced. The Indian equities market finished the day poorly, with the Nifty closing below 22,000 due to sector-wide selling.
