Top 5 stocks of the day: Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank, HCL Technologies, Tata Consumer Products, and Nestle India are among the top gainers while Axis Bank, Infosys, Adani Enterprises, SBI, and Wipro are among the top Nifty losers. Auto and real estate are up 0.5 percent each, while PSU banks and information technology are down 0.5-1 percent. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices finished flat.

Sensex and NSE Nifty50

The Sensex closed down 125.65 points, or 0.19 percent, at 66,282.74, while the Nifty fell 43.00 points, or 0.22 percent, to 19,751. Around 1800 shares rose, 1739 fell, and 155 remained constant. The benchmark indices closed on a negative note on October 13 due to volatility, with the Nifty closing at 19,750.
