UK: Majority of the Trade Agreement with India has been Concluded, will Only Sign when Satisfied

UK: According to Greg Hands, minister of trade, Britain has finished most of the elements of a free trade agreement with India but won’t approve it until it is satisfied that it is just and reciprocal.

Next round of negotiations soon tells Greg Hands

The majority of the chapters have already been concluded, and we anticipate beginning the next round of negotiations soon, Hands told lawmakers. The government had originally stated that it hoped to finish the agreement by Diwali, a date that passed earlier this week.

“We are working to get an agreement that benefits both parties equally, and we won’t sign anything until it is fair, reciprocal, and ultimately advantageous to the British people and the UK economy.”
