A 21-year-old climate activist from Bengaluru was arrested by the Delhi Police on Sunday in relation to connection to the "toolkit" shared by Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunberg in a bid to show support to farmers' protest that is taking place in India. Disha Ravi who runs the NGO "Friday for Future" campaign has been accused of editing the toolkit and sent it ahead.
Earlier, the Delhi police had said that the creator of the toolkit is an organization called the Poetic Justice Foundation who belongs to a Khalistani group.
The recent turn of events have taken place after the Delhi Police filed a case regarding toolkit tweeted by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. The development had come after Republic Day violence caused by the farmers' led tractor tally and police's action intensified after foreign support to the movement.
The Delhi Police has alleged that the toolkit was found on a social media handle ahead of the Republic Day only to generate violence on Republic Day.
"If you go by the unfolding of events of January 26, it reveals a copycat execution of the action plan," the Delhi Police had said.
"The call was to wage economic, social, cultural and regional war against India," Delhi Police Special Commissioner Praveer Ranjan had said.
"We have registered a case for spreading disaffection against the government of India - it's regarding sedition - and disharmony between groups on religious, social and cultural grounds, and criminal conspiracy to give shape to such a plan," the officer had added.
On February 3, Greta Thunberg had tweeted the "toolkit" to show her solidarity with the farmers' movement who are protesting against the Centre's farm laws that has been in progress at the borders of Delhi since November 26.
She deleted her post after a short while but posted a fresh tweet next day with a message that read ""Here's an updated toolkit by people on the ground in India if you want to help. (They removed their previous document as it was outdated)."
