Addressing traders and consumers in Gorakhpur on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri, the Chief Minister said the reduction in GST rates has not only empowered farmers and the industrial sector but has also given direct relief to the middle class and common consumers.

“Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the new GST framework will accelerate India’s economic growth, strengthen farmers, and energize industries, fulfilling the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” Yogi Adityanath said.

GST reforms would ensure affordable access to essential commodities such as food items, dairy products

He added that the GST reforms would ensure affordable access to essential commodities such as food items, dairy products, and study materials, while discouraging wasteful expenditure and addiction through higher taxes on luxury and harmful products.

Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister said, “GST reforms have come as a festive gift for the people. This is a reflection of Modi government’s commitment to both growth and social welfare.”

Traders and consumer representatives who attended the event welcomed the reforms, noting that the reduction in taxes on essential goods would help lower costs and boost local demand. Many highlighted that this move would also encourage small businesses to expand and invest more in Uttar Pradesh, thereby creating employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister also emphasized that these reforms align with the broader goal of Next Gen GST, aiming to make taxation simpler, more transparent, and technology-driven, ultimately benefiting all stakeholders in the supply chain.
